Cheers TD. I read those front-to-back now and still no clearer on which way to go. Americans dont have this problem it seems as they are all pre-wired. Back in Munich (where mine was imported from), they don't bother.

The car was built in June 2003. There's no standard SA640 in euro built X5s even then. So that's that.

Buggered really. Tried realoem to see if a harness was listed. No joy.

If I contact bimmernav they will want to sell me the whole shebang which I don't really want as I can get the main part (ULF) quite cheaply. Might give them a try anyway.

Bit disappointed now after all that euphoria about the XDA working.

Oh well, still a nice car, even without the bluetooth
