Hey - so attached is what bimmernav showed me when i asked for a bit-2 to ulf converter. Should it have everything? looks like he's trying to sell me the entire harness right?
There is one that looks like what i need though. He quoted me $449 - not "cheap" like what you mentioned.. lol.. If you look at the BIT 2.jpg (bottom right or last pic) image the connector on the left (black with white 'clip' and blue inside) is what I have on my harness. Isn't that the ULF part? |

That's the whole retrofit harness, you don't need all that you just need the last pic, that's all.
This is the correct converter, plug <- this into the ULF and -> into your loom. ![]() This is the only bit you need, it "should" be no more than like $60. Buying the bits separately (plugs and pins) from the dealer would be approx $40.

So this mystery still isn't solved. But here's another loop - I have the TCU module (bluetooth & assist). Could this be the issue? Considering purchasing the bluetooth kit. thoughts? Is there a difference as well as the harness provided? thoughts?

ccfj1 - thanks! You were right all along. BIT II harness and needed the converter. Got it today and it worked. Posting in someone elses thread the updates - but basically my bluetooth antenna range is no good now. any thoughts? when i'm sitting in the front seat of the car - the BT signal drops and bluetooth disconnects. before with my reg harness i could stand almost 10 ft away (it would activate when i'm at carwash waiting for my car). Thoughts?

W'hoo, glad it's all working my friend.
Try extending the BT antenna into the cab, the OEM is only a short lead, replace it with the longer (4m) one from the e46, BMW p/n 61-12-6-912-541, and route into the cabin. Any where under the centre console should be fine (or the glovebox).
