When you get to the site, click on the upper-rightmost item....I think it says approved phones, or something like that. You'll see the list of approved phones for bmw, and then look under the Sprint line. The second phone listed is the Treo 650.
Thanx

Thanks for responding, but I am really a dolt when it comes to this. Would you kindly take a moment and explain the issues. For example, would the Audiovox xv6600 have a 'stronger' bluetooth than the Treo? More easily paired?

I did look at the website you noted, but to little avail other than that it lists the approved phones.

Again...many thanks.
its not which one is stronger.. all are the same Bluetooth standard but some time the providor request to diSable features not required FOR THERE BENIFIT cause crippling the the phone.

for example if you have internet with the phone , they dont want you to use the phone as a bluetooth modem so the disable the Feature that support it.

thats why i like the GSM phones. because you can buy them unlocked with all features.

Treo and 6600 BOTH WILL NOT WORK with the X5 due to the lack of Hands free profile required by x5 bluetooth. however the treo 650 work somtimes if you managed to pair it, but with lot of glitches ( LIKE DICONNECT NOT CONNECT AGAIN AND YOU HAVE TO REPAIR MOST OF THE TIME)

The only PDA ppc Phone warking 100% with the X5 2005 3.0 is incluiding phone book transfer is the WIZARD like the QTEK 9100 AND its GSM phone will not Work with Varizon.

Dear Hberbout123

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately I cannot use the QTEK 9100 because it is not offered by Verizon. The only phone/pda's with bluetooth that Verizon offers are the Treo 650 and the Audiovox xv6600.

I wonder if I can follow up on the issue of locked/unlocked phones. Are you suggesting that the Verizon version of the Treo 650 would work in the BMW if the phone were "unlocked"?

Thanks.
