I wouldn't suggest it.

The BT/Assist combos do take some dealer programming plus if your x5 didn't have assist to start with you will need to do some additional wiring for the assist switch, not to mention GPS antenna, etc. If all you are after is Bluetooth, the retrofit ULFs are probably the way to go - no dealer programming, easy install, etc.

you have a list with the ulf part numbers

for the retrofit kit? I don't want to spend 600 for the brand new kit.
Let me know,
Thanks

don't know the proce diff.

Not sure how much the module on ebay is that you are referring to. But you could do it for around $550 with just a bluetooth module.
Does the assist module on ebay come with the ancillary parts and pieces>? I'd be happy to help you put together estimates both ways.

The Motorola Bluetooth/Assist modules will only work with X5's produced from April 2004 and on.

For a 2003 you will need to go with a Visteon BT module.

(of note, if you look up that part which you reference in your original post and look it up on realoem.com is shows as a discontinued TCU and references CDMA, which makes me wonder if this may be a CPT9000 TCU for the V60i phone - See http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...=84&fg=10&hl=7 )

I assume this is the auction you were looking at - http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWA%3AIT&rd=1

Jeff

p.s. - Randy at EIS is the source I would recommend for getting the BT components you need - http://eiskits.com/BMW.html
