Sony p990
I find that is a very nice phone. I have some questions about locked and unlocked.
Unlocked gives me the ability to use different SIM cards and prepaid SIM cards. Locked, I dont know. Can some clear this up for me.....

Treo 700W mixed results
I found that the BMW sees (after the first pairing)the Treo if I start a call with the Treo.
It also sees the quick dial list but will not complete the call |

Yes, I agree. That has been my experience. The car recognizes the phone, and will function hands-free if a call is made on the phone itself. Even tho the speed-dial numbers are in the car's computer, it refuses to allow a call out on those numbers using the steering wheel or dashboard controls. Calls in are fine.
Hmmmm. Anyone know why this is? Or how to get the car to call out on numbers that are shown as being in the car's phonebook? |

The new models (like the 700W) are always an uphill climb to get networked/working with peripherals. BT implementation is strange, though, b/c it doesn't invite any 3rd-party apps or anything. Just have to wait for Firmware updates on either the Treo or the car, I guess. Or get a Parrot, though that seems a waste! Best of luck to the 700W owners! Mindfull |

700wvs 650
It is not perfect but does offer EVDO speed.
I have the need to do a soft reboot about once a day but really like the phone. The Bluetooth link with BMW is supose to be improve (see 650 thread). The Verison phone service is much better than Sprint. Yes it costs more! |
