Arc Audio amp and sub?

just curious what is your budget?

i'd like to stay around $1000. obviously a little lower would be ideal, however I'd really rather not go any higher than that if possible.

obviously i'll spend a little more if it were worth it for a marked improvement -- but the thing is, i'm pairing this sub/amp combo to my stock head unit using the MB Quarts ... i don't want anything TOO powerful so as to overpower the mids/highs.

I just want good, clean, deep bass, powerful enough to feel it, NOT so powerful you could hold a block party from your car lol

I took a quick peek and I don't think the amp speced will deliver enough power for that 12" sub. I am not on the uppity up on this line of the Arc Series but I think it's a little high for Arcs *lower end series*.

Some things to keep in mind as well
Is the box just a prefabbed box, or the box built specifically for the sub which would affect the output of the sub ;-)

Construction - is it made of MDF, or yummy Baltic Birch.

Amps - U need to pair the amp to the subs as far as power is concerened.


Maybe Ken will chime in since he deals in the retail and *fabrication* world of car audio.

At that price, we would have a 10 in a fiberglass box in the side panel and some commensurate amp.

Oh, let's say, DLS MW110, fiberglass box, and a CA12 mono amp?

Crosvs - have you shopped around ? Or is this a audio dealer you are comfortable dealing with already ?

IMO, for the $$ as well, I think it's good to see what you can get out there - prefab vs. glass box, etc.
