STAGE 1 - V2: Finally, a Plug and Play Speaker Upgrade!

BSW is happy to announce the release of v2 of our Stage 1 Audio Upgrade.

What's New?

The Stage 1 is now Plug and Play!
We've made the easiest audio upgrade available even simpler: the Stage 1 now features plug and play connectors on each speaker, so all you have to do is remove your original speakers and plug the new ones in.

BSW 2.5" Midranges are INCLUDED in the price!
Because midrange frequencies are so important to the listening experience, BSW now includes our replacement midranges as standard (previously offered as an option) with our Stage 1 Audio Upgrade. This means you get a 100% complete package that replaces every single speaker in your BMW and the best sound quality possible.

We're using the best speakers possible for the best value: Rainbow Audio
BSW previously offered three brands of speakers with our Stage 1 Audio Upgrade: CDT, MB Quart, and Rainbow. Based on extensive research and customer feedback, we made the decision to offer only Rainbow Audio components in our Stage 1. Why? Simple: we feel they offer the best performance for the money.

Better Pricing!
We've reduced the price of our Stage 1 Audio Upgrade by including Rainbow components and our BSW midranges every time:
- Previous price of Rainbow Stage 1 w/ Midranges: $538
- New Price: $498
- Savings: $40!

For more information about the Stage 1 Audio Upgrade, click here.

Too lazy to search, but these run off the stock amp, right? If so, can I still upgrade to a more powerful amp down the road? Lastly, what's the wattage of the stock amp, and if we upgraded amps, what's the peak power of these puppies?

DINANM3: The old system wasn't plug and play, but install was still very simple. Previously, there were two crimps required to install the tweeters and midrange speakers. Now there are none required!

Dblock2151: Yes, the Stage 1 operates off of the stock amplifier. You can always upgrade to an aftermarket amplifier down the road.

The output of the factory amplifier depends on your existing setup. If you don't have DSP, output is about 15W per channel RMS, with DSP, about 30W. If you were to upgrade to an aftermarket amplifier, the most you could run these driver's with is about 70W / channel. You would need to purchase two pair of crossover networks @ $29/pair before installing them in that configuration.

Really? How? Isn't that problematic?

No, it's not. The use of a crossover networks allows for use of these speakers on an aftermarket amp.

Right... but on bimmerforums the other day one of your minio...people stated that when adding an amp to a Rainbow-and-BSW set, the BSW mid should be eliminated, since it wasn't designed for aftermarket-amp power, and since no off-the-shelf passive network exists for it...

That remains true in this case as well; the midrange for the Stage 1 is eliminated if using an aftermarket amplifier. I'm sorry if I wasn't clear on that point.

So we'd have to buy new midranges? Could you guys make me a package for my needs? I want an upgraded amp, and all my speakers replaced (no dsp). I hear you guys use the Dream Line series, but which ones? The KX or SLX? Or can you recommend any other brands? Would a JL 300/4 amp work okay with the Dream Line series that you offer, or would they be over powered? Sorry for so many questions, I just bought some subs and an amp, and would like to replace the interior speakers soon. Thanks.
