Pinging Tom G. - What's needed for Rearview Camera

Let me know all that's needed including video interface. To avoid cutting into the rear lights or BMW roundel, can the camera be mounted just below the tailgate handle, using the license plate frame bolt? Does the camera show the mirror view? What are the costs assuming EAS has everything.

I saw you in the TV thread, does your X5 have a BMW TV tuner fitted? This will make a determination on what is needed.

You'll need these two devices:

Video Source Module (VSM) for BMW - Core System
http://www.europeanautosource.com/pr...roducts_id=161

Reverse "Bumblebee" Camera
http://www.europeanautosource.com/pr...roducts_id=439

The combination of both of these items will provide a rearview camera installation that will automatically activate when the vehicle is placed in reverse. There is also an additional input for other devices such as a DVD player or iPod.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

I believe Tom said he was going to start carrying the mirror version cameras in October.

Tom, by the way, do you guys carry the relay module or is that a trip to Radio Shack?

We have them in stock, I can include one with the order at no additional charge.

How does your VSM integrate audio into the vehicle stereo? Or is that a separate harness which plugs into the back of the Nav screen?

Audio is integrated via AUX using the VSM, but a reverse camera setup would not have a need for audio - this is only needed for multimedia setups.
