Why don't my speakers work?

I have a 2003 X5. Had it from new (November 2003). Great car with all factory extras. Satnav, TV, Traffic Master, Bluetooth phone. The right front speakers have stopped working. Checked all the normal things, wiring, fuses etc but no success. Took the dash apart today, removed the TV mod but no sign of the amp (is there one?) do not have DSP just normal system with speakers in door panel and on dash top. Tried balance, fader etc but no luck. Any suggestions about this problem or even where I can locate the AMP? Checked the wiring in the boot too but no clues.

The boot contains Satnav DVD, Bluetooth control box and CD Changer but no amp. Looked under the Spare wheel too but only the battery under there. Any help on this would be appreciated.

Mikem

Amp Location

On my 2006 X5, the AMP is located in my left rear enclosure of the cargo area. (Located where CD changers are normally installed.) When you open the panel, the amp is in front bottom. (It looks more like a black box than an amp). It has a harness with all the speaker wires plugged in at the top.

I assume you checked that the speaker itself was not fried, right?
It could be the radio unit or the factory amp.
European versions seem to be equipped with a different audio system than the US versions. As nietodp said in the US version the factory amp is located in the left side of the trunk under the CD changer. You may have more chance with answers if you post your question in the BSW forum of this site.

Thanks for your comments. I have posted a similar question in the BSW forum. I have already checked under the CDchanger of the boot (trunk) but the bluetooth interface is housed there.

Still no luck so far

Thanks for your help. Unfortunately, there is no sign of the amp in the cargo area. I have had all the parts out and there is only the CD changer, NAV DVD and Bluetooth interface. Still no luck so far.
