TV on X5
Does anyone know how to disable the TV lock out whilst the car is moving? I know it can be done from in the boot somewhere but the Radio installation bloke wants $500.00 to do it! I assume it will be a case of pulling a wire but which one?

You can do it with NavCoder. Or, you can buy one of the TV in motion modules from eBay or EAS.
It is not a simple wiring change. You can only do it by a programmatic configuration change to the TV module (NavCoder or BMW diagnostics computer) or by blocking the speed signal from the I-Bus signal wire (TV-in-motion module).

I've done it with navcoder, and its quite simple. I used a 'resler' to interface the pc to the ibus.
http://www.reslers.de/ I connected the ibus from the CD to the resler (brown wire is 0v) then used navcoder to programme the TV and voice control. The resler is about 40 Euros, Navcoder 20. |
