Question... What did you do with the factory mids and tweets? The Alpine SPS 17C2 is a coaxial speaker, as I am sure yo know. If you connected the factory amp and wiring to it you are only feeding them a midbass signal and not full-range since it is x-over'd at the amp (each component speaker gets a dedicated, crossed-over signal on it's own channel of the amp). You must have done some additional wiring or something to account for the x-overs and component wiring. Curious to hear about that modified setup. I think this is a first - removing the component set and installing a coax.

Welcome to the neighborhood.
Look at component sets from MB Quart and Rainbow and some Infinity's. They are known to fit the factory speaker housing without much trouble.
