Today was my "big" day, I laid hands on a perfect BM54 tmc radio module..
I was ready for the swap and I removed all panels to access my current radio module. To my surprise I noticed that I currently have a BM24 radio module, with a completely different connector! So does this mean that no upgrade is possible whatsoever??? Off course I do not want to completely replace the cables, etc. Or is it possible to make aux-in on the BM24 radio unit??? Many thanks |

Does your radio module have the round pins or the flat pins? If it has the flat pins then it's a simple plug-n-play swap. If you have the round pins then it's doable but you'll need adaptor harnesses. I don't know if there's one to go from a new to an old, but there is one to go from and old to a new. Thanks for your reply,
Is there anyone here who has tried this upgrade before? Would not like to come to the conclusion that I wasted a few 100 Euro's on a radio module, modified the oem wiring and find out that it does not work ...

I upgraded my 2001 X5's radio module with the round pins to a 2003 radio module with the flat pins (using the conversion harness) and I now have AUX that works just fine now

Great,
Do you also have TV and DSP (coax from the cd changer) fully functional? Many thanks. |

My Dension IceLink plus is also fully functional, which took the place of my CD changer.

Great, thanks,
Did you build the adapter cable yourself or can I purchase it ready-made? Many thanks |
