Has anyone else had this problem and know how to resolve it?
Seems the 15-character display isn't an option, I've forwarded the issue to DICE to see if it can be resolved. We never use it since the font size it too small to see while driving compared to the DISC6/TRACK6 option.

I'll forward the issue to DICE's technicians and see if they are looking to change this.

Not at all - just making sure we answered all questions.

You'll need the trunk interface instead since you're equipped with NAV:

Exclamation Rebooting the Dice Silverline module?

Tom,

My Silverline isn't showing/scrolling text nor does it show the playlist name. It only shows TR 01, TR 02, etc as I use the up or down arrows. I have reset my iPod to no avail.

It has done this before and corrected itself when I started the car after either sitting off for a period of time or overnight. It has been this way for 5 days.

Can you give me the steps to resetting the Silverline module?

Thanks.

The battery is a bit tough to get to in the X5, since it's under the spare tire. Some BMWs are a bit temperamental during the initialization process. Perform the following steps:

1. Disconnect iPod from cable
2. Remove battery cables, negative first
3. Touch battery cable terminals together (away from battery) for +5 seconds, a small spark is normal as this is stored power draining from the system.
4. Allow cables to remain disconnected for about 5-7 minutes
5. Reconnect battery cables onto battery, negative last.
6. Reboot iPod by pressing on MENU and CENTER buttons for +5 seconds and then reconnecting to the DICE cable after the reboot process is completed.

Let me know if these steps correct the problem, are you on a Business CD or Navigation system?

nav system.

is this the only way to reset the silverline?

wasn't there a procedure to unplug the 3 pin connector with the key in the first position and the ipod either connected or disconnected..??..(i can't remember)

No - removing the battery is the proper way to initialize. Otherwise, the system may have compatibility issues down the road.

If you would like us to do it, just make an appointment and stop on by.

by the way, the playlist and artist text is shown correctly on the obc but only tr01, tr02, etc. on the nav screen.
