I got a unit in mind and an installer...email me the price of the bezel and I will take enough digital pictures to make your head spin.

I am just thinking~ we can actually put the stock MID into the compartment box while installing the computer into the center console~ and then install Aux input~ so you can get the benefit of the carputer while maintaining the function of stock MID. and since you can use the steering column stick to view your m/gal, and lots of other stuff, and you can control your cd player with the steering column too~ any thoughts???

Exclamation

X5Turtle,
You read my mind. Why not just install the module in the rear compartment? Is it part of the unit itself? I though on GPS units they are located in the trunk. I wonder if it's posible to buy a unit GPS radio unit, mount that in the back so you can still use the onboard computer. Would that also keep the radio functions, or would you still need that...?

Sounds good. By all means, POST PICS!

So, which unit are you installing in the Dash? THe Xenarc touch screen? Curiousity, do you plan on that GPS MID module still powering your radio, or are you going another route for the carputer radio module? Radio Card in the computer? This is the only stumbling block for me... I would much rather go carputer over a double DIN radio unit with Navi, just more options. I tell ya though, if you can go aftermarket and ket the OBD, we are almost there.

Pioneer Avic-d1

I thought about the carputer but did not want the hassel of it.

I am also going to retain wheel function, have xm, and use the pioneer performance modul which will have the gps. All told via ebay...I can have the whole set up with my other two screens and 6 disk dvd changer for like 1700 bucks....
