Forget DICE...Intravee MUCH better.

Let me preface by saying that I have now had the chance to try both units out in my X5 and once you have a chance to use the Intravee it becomes very apparent how poor of a design the DICE is. Now keep in mind the DICE is $150 whereas the Intravee is $250 plus the required Alpine IPOD interface which is $75 (On Ebay, they don't make it anymore). But regardless the Intervee has no static, doesn't crash, doesn't lose the connection to the Ipod, has a full menu system if you have Navigation and transitions through the menus quickly. I was having a lot of problems with my initial DICE unit which EAS happily replaced. But the problems remained, including digital noise, losing the connection to the Ipod, etc. And is disconnecting the battery and touching terminals together really a solution??? Have you SEEN the battery location in the X5???

To all of you who have a DICE unit and are unhappy about it, I highly suggest that if you can afford it, switch to the Intravee. You will be MUCH happier.

I agree, my DICE has to go - having an '01, my electronic upgrade options are limited - presently looking into an Alpine solution, but will have to wait until I get back to SC - have not heard of the Intravee, but am looking for a complete solution for bluetooth, iPod, Sirius, HD, new nav.

The Intravee should work. You will need several Alpine adapters for all the stuff you are asking for. Contact Bimmernav about it. The DICE is an okay solution but for a modest amount of more money the Intravee is just a much better integration of the Ipod into the vehicle.

Can you give us info on where you purchased your items and describe the install process? Also, any pics of the interface on the nav screen?
Thanks!

I have an option to add an Ipod, but I am going to add a Phatnoise in the rear compartment and call it a day. Its basically an early version of an Ipod with less installation hassels.

zerochief has it covered. I will add that install took me 10 minutes (including removing the CD changer which I sold for $175 on Ebay). Continues to work flawlessly. The interface is stupid-easy, sound quality is excellent. All in all the best product out there for Ipod integration.
