I have everything to do it but haven't had the time. Sorry. I doubt I'll get much done before the meet next week, but plan on going full-bore once I get back.

Not a huge update, but I did get the "cover" for the amps. I have it in the X but the pictures came out bad and I have to remount the smaller amp as it's sitting crooked in the opening. But anyway, here's the pic:

Nice. How do you make that JL logo look so neat? Did you just paint it or is there some kind of template that you use? By the way, any progress of where to install the the RBC-1 knob yet?

Justin.

A friend of mine cut the JL logo out of a piece of vinyl, so we used that as a template. The color is a custom mix of the 381 Lemans Blue on the rest of it and some MINI CooperS silver (whatver colot that is). The RBC is going to be installed under the dash by the hood release or in the center console. I haven't completely made up my mind yet. As soon as I pick one spot, I consider another. Any suggestions?

Most amps' speaker level inputs are very poor in sound quality for mids and highs and noise floor. They are low-cost circuits intended mainly for sub use.

The JL amps can probably take speaker level in, but why? The output from the OEM HU sounds so good compared to speaker level.

I don't mean to be sarcastic, but Alpac, have you read the posts on analyzing the DSP system and how to integrate to it?

ekaz, I'm out of the office today, be in tomorrow, FYI.

Ken, no problem thanks a lot for the clarification. I have read many of your posts on this board and have learnt a lot from them. I do not know many professionals who take the time to provide that much information in forums like you do. Anyway, the reason to keep the DSP amp would be to keep the DSP (Digital Sound Processing) capability which I actually find pretty cool. Let me explain where I was coming from with my question which may sounds stupid for a car audio expert. Knowing that the rear speakers really suck I was thinking about why not adding an amp after the DSP just to improve the rear sound and replace the rear speakers by the same token.
