lol where were you a month ago m5james with that little piece of info when I started this darn thing?!
Well I finally did get the right one nailed down.Fits perfectly, wrapped it in black carpet/felt, solid as a rock. Going to dynamat later this week and add a bit more poly fill. And once I find the cord to my camera I will upload pics. It sounds amazing. Only thing is that I would definitely like to find a spare compartment cover so I can make a custom grill as someone did previously in the thread. Sound is kinda muffled with it covered. Also, it hides my millions of hours of man labor.

Dcashion - If youd like, I can put together a box exactly like the one I just finished, (will PM you a pic if you'd like), with the sub for 175$

My box design is more like a mix between Essams and the JL one, with the angled piece that goes into the well under the fuse box.

Will gladly do a box for anyone else for $100. This includes the polyfill, black carpet wrapped, terminal, and mounting bracket. Will upload pics as soon as I can

Been here the whole time, sorry man. This is the grill I used, looks great 10" DJ Car Speaker Steel Mesh 2 Piece Woofer Grill New: eBay Motors (item 380278170523 end time Oct-14-10 18:54:51 PDT). Lookin forward to seeing those pics.

If it looks and sounds as good as your making it sound, you should get a hold of TwinsPappa...he's looking for a box as well. For $100 that'd be cheaper than us sending back a forth a stock enclosure.

I've seen some pretty cool boxes created to fire through the center of the rear set on Bimmerforums and E46fanatics. I've been wanting to do one for my buddies to see how it would sound in a convertible.

Hey James ... long time

My convertible is having two subs under the front seats ... and the LOGIC7 really sounds fantastic...

I will change the amp I currently have in the E46, make a new box, and install the sub below the rear deck or above the battery well ... I want it to be removable.

Grill will definitely be ordered and installed by next week. Will get a hold of him as well, thanks for the ref.

Thought about doing something like the back seat enclosure as well, for more of an upfront cabin feel to the speaker. Just hoping someone else pulls the trigger on that one.

How have you been Essam Good to see you're still lurking around here.

Sounds like you may not need it, but a little extra bass and a fun project never hurt anyone. My friends 3 is an E46 325ci, so he has NO bass whatsoever. I'm more interested in the project than he is...I've already got the wood and a spare subwoofer, he just needs to get the amp.

it worked great for me.

What enclosure are you talking about? Where it sits in the cargo area and fires through the skibag hole? Anyone can make that box, simple cut the sides to the angle of the seat when fully reclined and go from there using an online subwoofer enclosure calculator to determine the height, width, depth, material thickness to make sure it works for the subwoofer of your choice.

Ill try it out, just need to take a break from doing stuff on my X for a while. Need some time to drive it and enjoy it.

Here is the final version of my box. Sound is amazing. Fully turned up, makes my hair stand up.

Will produce more if anyone is interested, for $100. Its an all day process, so takes a lot of time for me, but well worth it to be honest. This design incorporates the slanted triangle space that dips in about 5-6 inches.

We've seen them installed before, we wanna see the finished product out of the car

I've always been curious as to how different the Pioneer shallow 10" sub sounds vs my Kicker L5 8". Certain songs it sounds awesome, others it leaves more to be desired...but it's what can be expected from such a small enclosure.
