Just thought I would update everybody on this problem. I took a time out for a few days from my initial frustration with this. Went back to it with a clear head and started with the basics. What did I find? The fuse from the number 72 position was missing. WTF? Its not like it can fall out or anything. But my 16 year old son is a prime candidate for this kind of prank. When questioned, he had a very difficult time hiding a smirk on his face. He is about to find out that payback is brutal. BTW, I replaced the fuse, and everything is fine with my audio. I feel like an idiot about this. I cannot believe I didnt notice this right away. But, its not like I inspect the fuses all the time. Doh!

I just LOVE getting people with shit like that!!! I sometimes get overly technical with my pranks though if I have the time.... (insert evil grin here
)Once sniped in an ignition killing setup via relay in my friends mustang to the WOT switch for his NOS... then raced him! (funny that it dies as soon as he hits full throttle!)

Weasel, do you have to wait 15 minutes or so after a battery reset or can you just reconnect it right away?

While it does take about 15 minutes for the vehicle to fully go to sleep on its own, it doesn't take that long when you do a reset. Just long enough for the internal capacitors to lose their charge in the various modules. Removing the battery terminal for 10-15 seconds it called an "executive battery reset" in BMW terms... a full, better be damn sure of it reset is having it off for at least 10 minutes, and toughing the ground terminal to the positive post or vice versa to definitively discharge the system.
