Is the AUX kit the same for E46 and X5?

OK. so I got the AUX done for FREE, in the glove box, today at my dealer. It was free because I had won $100 gift cert for parts/services when I went to the Series 7 launch, plus he cut me a little deal on the price so I paid nothing but $7 in NJ state sales tax. It sounds great especially for my simple needs.

However, I noticed that I now have a DIMLY lit CODE light/selection on the Nav screen. I dont mean code like an error code, just the word CODE, but I cant toggle to it..or do anything with or through it..

I'm sure if I "RTFM" I would find the answer, but I'm really tired from travelling today, so would some kind soul please take pity on me and tell me what it does, should do, supposed to do, or some other answer.?

BTW, while it's true that you can only control the sound, it's way better sounding than using the cassette adapter for my XM radio (Audiovox XC-9), much neater, and I typically have it tuned to the same, some might say boring CNBC all day antway so I really only change it on weekends to Vinyl Rewind or similiar classic rock (45-46-47).

I think I shall tackle doing the wife's E46 since she doesnt have Nav, if the weather holds up..I got a kit for her car for cheap from someone who didnt want it, new in the bag.
