DvD player wont fit !

I took the plunge and bought a DVD changer and tried to fit it tonight. I was a little worried about because it was a none branded one,So wired it all up sounded great and picture was good too also wired up through the AUX imput so was in stereo and was well pleased until I tired ti fit it in the back where the cd changer is. The problem is the depth of the player with the RCA leads on is to great, and to make matters worse the rca leads are towards the back end of the car where it starts to rap around the tail lights.

Any advice please ?

Many thanks

There are right-angle RCA fittings, or cables with right-angle ends. How far are you from making it fit?

How did you connect the video output of the DVD changer to the front screen?

I went to the shop where I purchased the DVD Changer from and they had a look and said yes it is much bigger than the last lot of changers they sold and the other make they sold fitted in there much better So I had to bite my tongue but they have come up with a solution I think and would like to run this past you guys and see what you think. Going to take the unit apart and solder on RCA leads and this should give it enough room to fit in the where the changer goes. I am not really worried about the changer being taken to part as was not that expensive and works really well for a cheap unit! What is worrying me is there solution for the CD changer They told me to make brackets for the DVD and stick the CD Changer on top which does make me think it will make the cd’s jump or I guess the last option to me is take the CD Changer out altogether and fit a ice link.

One other question if I may in Janix DVD in stereo post on the front page of this site (Which if I had not read would not have even dreamed of doing this) He has a switch so he can split his aux inputs i.e. one for the I pod and one for the DVD in stereo can anyone explain in lay mans terms how this is done and which parts I will need exactly and if I did not do it the way Janix did his and just used a headphone splitter what would happen if both sources played at once so would the stereo go into melt down or just get jumbled up music because to lots playing at the same time.

The one question I can answer is to Jhani just buy a video in motion lead from NAV TV and comes with instructions and is real easy to do just plug and play.

Thanks again

I did have a look at that I tried to put it in there but would'nt fit I did not realise that the back had to be cut out !! I think the DVD player they have fitted under the seat was a single and not changer and this does seem to be a particular big one

Thanks anyway

But can anyone please explain this switching for aux input as I would really like to get this sorted out at the same time as finishing the install on the changer

hold on.

what brand is the changer??

i have a full DVD kenwood 10 disk changer and it fits. you must "refashion" the brackets that hold the NAV and CD changer (OEM) to fit all three. I have all three in place.

Its tight, but it fits. Also, using the video in motion box is from TV on Nav not nav-tv (there's is a reprogrammed video unit -- burned Eprom), and doesn't support stereo in (at least mine from 2003 doesn't).

this is what you need if you have the video tuner:

BMW TV on NAV Video In Motion Module

tvonnav.com

please do not modify the changer. I'm sure we can help you make it fit.

My setup:

wow! ok. maybe i just have been confused from the get go.
if i want DVD, do i need to get the tv tuner/video module?
so, when they talk about TV on NAV, it refers to DVD on the NAV screen?
i thought i could just buy a DVD player. i missed something, i think.
