Crazy and frightening! My dice kit is great and works as advertised- I told wifey not to scroll fast - so far so good, with the Itouch, it seems to have no trouble with the scroll but I am deliberate when I scroll.

I was thinking the same thing, but I did'nt cancel. I am just going to make sure that the actual module is installed to an easily accesible location, ie. rear cargo area. My past expierience ( with a Dice for a VW) is that if it starts acting up to unplug the main cable from the module and plug it back in. It works fine until it reaches the end of a playlist.

I am not sure if any other kit provides the same features. A lot of people seem to have the Dice and most don't have any complaints. What's the alternative, the OEM kit?

It is great, when it works. Browsing, playlists, display all as advertised. It just sucks when you are enjoying your music and it quits and dispalys "DETACHED" when you know full well the iPod is attached.

So I installed my Dice kit in my X5 and the install went pretty well. I followed the instructions from BSW and they were great. I would just recommend and re-iterate to anyone doing it yourself to be very careful when removing the trimpieces and pulling on them. I actually broke the trim pieces on the door sills a little but not enough to not be able to re-install them without any problems. I'll have to replace them, but only because I'm a little OCD and just knowing they are broken drives me nuts.

The operation of the Dice unit is another matter. I was worried before I purchased it about the operation because of my expierience with a Dice unit for my VW. Well, I was right to be worried because this BMW unit does the same things the VW unit does. All the issues that have been described in this thread are occuring for me. I should have went with my gut and held off. When it works it is great, but these issues, and having to constantly re-set the unit is annoying. And can anyone explain what the "initialization" phase is that is described in the instructions? I followed the instructions to the letter, but the text display is working very erratic for me. Text shows up on the cluster, and I dont like the text there, and I change to disc 6 track 4 to get it on the MID but it sometimes does switch it, sometimes does'nt.

All in all I hope a better kit is available someday.

I put a Dice in my wifes X3 and it SUCKS!!! I hate it..... It always goes out, the satalite always loses the connection and does not play. I would never recommend it to anyone. I would pay a little more and go with the OEM Ipod/Iphone unit.

EAS has 0 customer support. I had problems from the get go and when I called and spoke to Tom, I felt like he blew me off. Like he never wanted to talk about the problem and had short responsed that I couldn't even understand. I ended up calling BSW and they were great and talked me through the whole process.

Besides that, the Dice sucks! Dont get it. I had the first generation Dice in my X5 and it worked fine. Unfortunatly, I sold it with the car.

Hmm, still good for me-works as advertised. I wonder which ipod you are using. Mine is hooked up to a newer itouch which is a waste of a beautiful itouch and will be switched to a nano. I keep it in the rear cubby where the cd changer goes. No point in doing all the labor and risk of breakage to move the ipod to the console when I have steering wheel control and it charges the unit. I hope it does not act up like you guys and have me singing da blues.

This is great. I bought my dice unit last week thru BSW. The next day I saw this thread. I sure hope there is no issues. I guess I will report back after installing the unit.
