The module that has the buttons you can select a different radio station/cd etc... If so you are trying to connect it to the wrong connector which is what I was trying to do when I did my Aux input install. I also found the same thing (the slots 3, 4 & 10 taken). The pins connect to the back of the CD module (the module where you insert the CD). You need to take that out and the connector on the back of that is where those pins go.... give that a try..
