I was gonna chime in on that one too. The myBimmer one looks very stock and the lines flow really well.

Calm down guys...I never said it was, and the pic shows that. I mentioned earlier in the thread where it came from, and as Rich knows, I just purchased one of the mybimmer.net bezels. There is nothing wrong with the bezel I'm selling other than it doesn't work for my height and seating position. When Sobi owned it (he's much shorter than I am) he said it was perfect for him, so it should be perfect for someone else as well.

Both look completely fine inside the interior, and the one I have even has texture that matches the grain on the dash. Per your pics Rich, I see that the E46 bezel has an indentation to match the seams with the dash and trim...any reason why the E53 bezels don't have that? Since neither my bezel nor Rich's has those indentations, neither one really has "lines that flow really well", but either way, I'm looking forward to getting mine.

I'm probably going to be wrapping the bezel and the trimwork in silver DiNoc, then the bezel will at least match the trim in color and texture since it doesn't have the seams. Thinking about it, it's probably better that the one I have coming is lacking the seam lines to match the dash since it'll be one less place for the DiNoc to potential not have a tight fit. I don't know how pliable the stuff is, and with the heat, I'd be afraid that after time it would have started to bubble and/or seperate if the bezel had that seam anyways.

Hate to bust your bubble James, but the mybimmer Bezel "does follow lines" very well. Here's a pic of his vs yours and it very much makes the touchscreen look stock. Could be subjective but I have been very open and honest so far on this forum as Rich can attest to.

The mybimmer Bezel follows the flow of the Upper Vents and HVAC Controls Below.

Nothing to burst as I already agree that Rich's recessed bezel is better...at least for my needs. Even his previous bezels http://www.xoutpost.com/253915-post3.html were the same flush style instead of recessed like they are now, and im sure his customers are completely happy. I'm not here trying to argue with you about who's is better as both get the job done, im just trying to sell mine...period.

So how are you guys mounting the deck? My current bezel has the brackets as integrated parts that cannot be removed, so all I had to do was slide in the deck from the rear and use the stock screws in the side of the deck. I see fe did some brackets on the side of the deck, but how in the heck are they secured to the bezel itself then?

Also, the opening gaps around the top and bottom are larger than the size of the deck face and/or the entire deck itself. I looked back at the initial pics of this entire thread and the same gaps/openings are in fe's pictures as well, I just never noticed it. Both bezels sink into the dash the same equal distance, so it's definately not perfectly flush like the pic above with the tan interior. That's the least of my problem, and I'm fine with it sinking in anyways. I was playing with the new bezel in the dash and I can push the bottom in a little, tip the top forward and even get more angle on the deck...I just don't know how in the hell to mount it?

I was so excited to be able to install and start using this, but I have no way now of securing the deck to the bezel or the opening in my dash. Suggestions?

....so the disappointment continues. After making my own brackets to secure the deck to the framing (lack of a better word) inside the dash, Rich's bezel installed - zero angle change as i had expected. After taking closer looks at each bezel, installing back and forth, the biggest differences between his and my bezel is that his has a consistant reveal around the entire perimeter of the dash. Technically that looks better (maybe thats what MPDano was referring to), but at the end of the day, neither bezel accomplishes what I was trying to accomplish. Looks can be deceiving since Rich's bezel is shallow at the top and deeper at the bottom. I'm at dinner now, but i'll show pics later as to why, unless someone or myself makes a completely different bezel, there isnt anyway to change the angle. Disappointing day and a roadtrip back to Boise on Thursday since the glare from the monitor wont be any different

Bummer. I disagree that you say it doesn't angle it more down. It did for me, but I had the Universal Bezel and it looked like crap. Mine now angles more down and the curves look more stock, especially how it follows the dash opening. Lemme see if I can beat the Sun going down and take a pic of my set up.

I confirmed it using an angle finder and both were within one degree of each other. Looking at the two side-by-side, Rich's does look like it'd be a better angle, but i think the big difference is that his bezel contours with the curve of the dash while mine is flatter and more recessed. Both bezels have a flat face on the back that sit flush with original mounting surface inside the framework of the dash, which was my first giveaway and what then prompted me to grab my angle finder.

Both are nice bezels and get the job done, but im already used to my current bezel, so i dont mind taking the mild loss and just selling Rich's. It's boxed up w/ the brackets I made and ready to go, so hopefully someone reading this picks it up before I head to Louisiana.
