How hard was it to install the SWI-PS? Can you get to control wire with just removing the black plastic cover above the drivers feet. or do you need to remove the interior matching cover under the steering wheel.
Thanks

You need to remove the cover under the steering wheel. I have occasional issues of the source button being pressed or the band button when I honk the horn. I think a resistor would fix it but I will try it when it gets warmer. Currently the temp here is in the teens. Make sure you get the newer SWI-PS. You can tell by the color. It should be blue. Good luck.

What is the difference between the black box and the blue box?

I don't have any issues whatsoever w/ my PAC other than the volume control being a little slow to react, and if I hold onto it, it'll jump numbers and sometimes go too loud. I still don't understand why PAC says we can't use the R/T button...I've got it programmed to switch between sources. I've been on the AVIC boards and deleted the key beeps, and it made things react a little faster to button presses.

Did you hookup the reverse wire for the backup camera to the taillight wire as indicated in the install directions or add a relay so it doesn't draw power from the reverse light?

I added a relay so it does not draw from the reverse light. Like I said before the reverse light 12V may be pulsed so its not clean and can cause distortion or static to the video.

The black ones are really old and they do not have all the functions. The latest one has added the voice recognition button.

Th R/T button works for me BTW. I use it to go to the telephone menu.

Did you get the voice recognition button to work? I have two SWI-PS (newest firmware) and I cannot get it to program that one button. All other buttons work. Is there a setting on the head unit? it is very odd. It ends up giving me a fast blinking and I have to reset back to mode 5 again and start over.
Thanks
Kevin

I still wish the damn up/down buttons went through the presets instead of incriments of .2 tuning the radio.

Bump for wanting to sell my bezel and figure out how I can go through presets instead of tuning the radio up/down when I push the arrows.
