Bluetooth stopped working... just like that

So i have had my TYTNII paired to the car since June and a few weeks ago i noticed I am not seeing the Telephone Option anymore when I go to the menu on the Navi. I have turned bluetootn on and off on the cell... and i still cant pair it again.

I did notice a red light at the upper right of the stereo... Not sure what that is. Its not there now... It recalled it was there when I was driving.. and it kinda conicides with the last time the bluetooth worked...

Any suggestions?

my battery died one day and my phone was unable to connect. I wiggled the bluetooth module wires in back and looked at the fuses and re-seated them. It started working again but when my phone isn't connected, the light is always red. I believe it used to disappear after a few seconds. I'm having some battery drainage issues as well. One user did report that his 'telephone module' had to be replaced. I'm still in the diagnosis phase. My advice to you, check your connections and fuses.

Thanks man. I should have also mentioned that my battery had died a few months back and it was only when i reconnected the new battery that i got the bluetooth to work.

I will try to disconnect my battery and reconnect to see if it makes it work again.

Thanks man.. will keep you posted.

ok.. so here is the update.

I did nothing. Weather too cold. I did not drive the X for 2 days and when I started it up it gave a bit of a weak start and started. I then noticed that my date and time were reset... and guess what else? my Telephone option is back on the menu !!..

Soooo.. i did the pairing and all is well... I have to check my leads on the battery and make sure all is secure.

So thats that.

If you start it up and the red telephone light stays on (don't have you phone's bluetooth on) you might have the same problem as me and it may quickly discharge your battery. I've d/c'd fuse 73 and I've been good. After the holiday's I'm taking it in to see what the dealer is going to do for me.

i'm just saying what my experience was. I've also read the dealer might replace for free since it impedes use of the BMW Assist.
