Yeah, but from clicking the link on the S10 forums, they retail for like $300 a piece, and you'd need two. You could almost buy the JL 10" enclosure that is premade for the X5 for almost that much. I'm not saying to don't do it, but it's hard to think that a 6" will do the job that a nice square 8" (close to the surface area of a 10") or a 10" sub will do. Do you have the stock sub enclosure already, or would you be making your own box from scratch after you decide on a subwoofer?

Project abandoned!
After messing with fabrication, cutting, and dealing with the factory enclosure I've decided it's just not worth it.

Went out and bought a Fosgate loaded box. Installed just behind the back seat with quick release nuts and still have plenty of cargo room. Sound? Million times better!

That's good it worked out for you. Looks like you could build a rectangular spacer around the subwoofer to allow it to sit flush against the back of the seat and have it fire through the skibag hole, then you'd have no worries of ever punching a hole in the cone and the box would be a nice flat wall pointing into the cargo area.

I've still got a 12" in a large box in the back of the X now that I can easily remove by just unplugging the speaker connections when I need the room, but I'd like to get finished w/ the additional mods I'm doing above and beyond what others have done to the stock enclosure. I'm still playing around randomly here in there w/ the fiberglass. Being my first time, it's not actually that bad...just messy and sometimes has a tendancy to stick to my fingers when I'm trying to make the sheet fiberglass to sit flat and maintain certain contours. After I get the general shape, then I'm going to use matt pieces all over working from the inside to reinforce everything and make it super secure. Would I ever do it again, at least to this extent...probably not. Fiberglassing is something I've never tackled, so at least I know how it works now. If anyone decides to go the standard route and modify it just to fit the 8"-10" sub like others have, it'll probably be just fine...I just know I've got that extra hair of airspace now Between cutting out the areas (some as thick as 1/4", others as thin as 1/8") using a jigsaw, I made it this far in a combined time of about 2hrs.
