How can you take out the rear factory subs?
hey guys i just recently sold my factory sub box to avonside on this forum...
any tips/pointers on removing the subs and the box from the rear of the truck? does the whole unit come out or do i have to seperate the subs from the box while taking it out? thanks! |

I am sure that you'd get a response in the stereo forum.

The subs come out as one unit. There are 2 bolts along the bottom and 2 along the top up near the fuse panel.
The first picture here: http://www.xoutpost.com/showarticle-168.html shows the whole box out of the X5. The flat part protuding toward the left side of the picture are where the 2 lower bolts are and if yoy look along the top, you can sort of see the 2 "ears" where the top 2 are. Hope this helps, good luck! |

As ekaz said the factory sub enclosure is held by 4 bolds. For better access and removal of the two bolts close to the fuse box I would suggest to unscrew one of the fuse box's bolts. To access the two bolts at the bottom of the enclosure you will have to remove the black plastic cover which hides the bottom part of the enclosure.
