Crackling from left midrange.

I have a 2004 BMW X5 3.0 Navi with non DSP. The left mid range on the dashboard one day decided to crackle and hiss when the radio is on or off. The crackle comes and goes. So I decided to replace them with Bavarian Soundworks midrange speakers. Awesome sound improvement by the way, but the left mid range still makes noises even with the radio off. You guys think there's a short in the speaker wire or the factory amp is going? All the other speakers work fine. Thanks.

good to hear it has awesome sound - thinking of purchasing the midranges as well... really that much an improvement?
