Rockford upgrade
Please correct me if I misunderstood my research! Any posts would be a help!
I've installed new stereos in most of my cars, they are way more simple than BMW's electronic systems. There are a couple of questions that I'm concerned with. I understand wiring the head unit and installing the sub with the current DSP system. I've read multiple posts but I'm confused by a couple of items. After taking out the computer, am I losing most of the features? 1)Installing an aftermarket headunit will make me lose computer controls (time/date/mpg/miles remaining) 2)Purchasing the Axxess ASWC will enable me to use my steering wheel controls, however will my call control features work with my head unit or will the basic volume and seek only work? 3)Since I'll be losing the computer controls, will my cruise control be affected by this? If anyone could explain this it would help me a ton! I've recently bought 2 Rockford Fosgate P1S4-12's with the Rockford Fosgate Punch 300.1 amp. I'll wire a bass control knob along with it. I've paired it with the Pioneer AHV-2600BT head unit. Has anyone else installed this head unit in their X or will I be the first? Bavarian stage one looks appealing with their audio system and most people give great reviews with it. However I'd like to put in a full Rockford system all the way around. Does anyone have any Rockford mids in their X? Hopefully if weather permits I'll be installing this weekend and will provide pics!
