Anyone like the toggle version over the Perspective version?

HOW ABOUT THE TOGGLE PERSPECTIVE VERSION FROM POINTING NORTH TO DIRECTION OF TRAVEL. NOBODY HAS SAID A WORD ABOUT THAT ONE? --sorry for the caps ~:->
are u talking about a version that replaces travel direction w/ Perspective?
i, too, would like that. i think the one listed in this thread replaces pointing north w/ Perspective. so, u end up w/ Perspective and Travel Direction;
which, are basically the same view.

Quick question for Martin (AMBISHOP) about the posted files in the 'filestore'.

What is the difference between the Alcohol120% images v26_toggle and v26_toggle3d? Which is the best image to use?

Also, should the menu item tag change to say 'Direction of Travel' & 'Pointing North' or should it always just say 'Direction of Travel'? Loaded the toggle image last night and I believe it works as described but for some reason I expected the menu item text to change. Anyway, I think this version is excellent but wonder if as has been suggested the 'Direction of Travel' menu item may be the better one to toggle - as this may hide the hack from any prying eyes of BMW service staff?

And just a BIG thanks for getting this working - I have had no end of ribbing from friends in the 'TomTom' brigade who thing their stick-on boxes are far superior as they have the 3d perspective - HAH!!

Just off to fiddle with the logo now

Installed the navboot-toggle version on my MkIV sat nav with no problems at all...complete with a custom logo

All I did was take the original V26 ISO, and replace the navboot file with the one supplied by amibishop, and saved the ISO, then burnt to a CD.

I downgraded from V26 to V24 (couldn't find the V25 CD), and then upgraded to the perspective/toggle hacked V26 version.

I haven't used the V26.09 beta software at all, so I've no worries about anything breaking.

Weirdly you can only choose perspective mode when in split screen. You can then revert to fullscreen after with no issues. Shame there aren't any road names in the perspective view though

as a matter of fact, i am reading the thread and the TOPIC NAME.
all i was mearly trying to do was to clear up some confusion w/
ambishop's post. to others - "HOW ABOUT THE TOGGLE PERSPECTIVE

that may be very confusing. sorry to put u in a state of shock.

and to be quite honest, the TOPIC NAME could also be quite confusing
to others. just my $.02

I dont know English so good, but I understand his message like this : first hacked version was named "perspective" and "Pointing north" option was changed to "Perspective". Second hacked version was named "toggle perspective" and "Pointing north" option was changed like that : if you are in "pointing north" mode and choose this option one more time - you'll go to "direction of travel" mode. If you choose it again - you'll go to "pointing north" mode back.
I put the wrong word in my message. This is not "shocked", but I was surprised by your question.

again, i was mearly just trying to clear up any confusion that
ambishop's post might cause others.

ok, so if i read ur post correctly, the 1st version had only 2 viewing
options (Perspective and Travel Direction). the 2nd version has all
3 viewing options (Pointing North, Perspective and Travel Direction).
w/ this 2nd version, Travel Direction is always visable; however, a
user can toggle between Perspective and Pointing North. if this is
the case, that clears a whole heck of a lot up for me.

i think, what most users are requesting is, instead of the toggle
being between Perspective and Pointing North, it should be between
Perspective and Travel Direction; keaving Pointing North always available.

does that make sense?

Yes, with this version you can set any of three available map positions. That's what some users wanted, and even more - it's universal version for all users.

any idea if they're gonna give us a version that leaves "Pointing North"
and allows user to toggle between "Perspective" and "Travel Direction?"
