I too have this problem, just started yesterday and looked at the service menu, and it seems the gps sensor doesn't pick up the location of the car and 30mins later it found it, only it was somewhere off the map - the co-ordinates kept changing and finally it located where I was?

Is v27 ok to use officially? I'm in the UK with DVD 2005-2 Disc

I've also had the problem since upgrading to v27. Twice the system has lost its spot. Once it had me driving off the map about 50yds away from the highway (albeit parralel to the highway). The second time it got lost near my house by the time I got home, it was about 50-100 yds off.

Interesting to see others with the same problem. Is there anyway to report this?

I havent'

flashed to v27 on my Mini from v26 yet, but using the 2006 US DVD map and I notice now it says City/TC, what the heck is TC? And it amazes me how after 2 1/2 years they still haven't updated the map with my best friends address.

Nonetheless, this is meaningless to our problems. The best thing about this is that you don't have to press "Accept" anymore cause after 8 seconds is gone!!!
I'm still looking for posts from fellow New Yorkers who drive in Manhattan to see if they are getting the same errors I'm getting. I say Manhattan cause is the only place where it has happened!!!

My v27 NAV finally got lost today. I parked the car in a underground lot, and when I returned to the surface even after it found 3 GPS satellites, it was unable to calculate the correct position. In the end, the system just rebooted itself.

Fortunately, once it restarted, it took a few moments, but it did manage to calculate the correct position.

I've had the NAV get lost before with previous version of the OS periodically, and also had the reboot .... only once before, in a two year period.

Have to see if it happens again and if so, if this is a recurring problem. Too little data right now to point fingers at v27 I think ..... Cheers, Adrian

This sounds like your nav system may not be getting data from the wheel sensors, which provides inertial guidance for times when the vehicle can't receive satelite GPS signals (such as in a tunnel or an underground parking garage)

You can look in the hidden Service Menu (go to the Settings screen and hold down the SELECT button for about 10 seconds) and see what the wheel sensor data shows.
