Hey, I'm new at this DVD burning stuff. This is the first time I've used my new DVD burner on my IBM thinkpad t60. First time I've ever heard of torrent. Piece of cake. Trust me.
Obtain torrent file and torrent client..
1. Torrent client: use BitComet and download it from
http://www.BitComet.com
2. Download the the correct torrent image
http://torrentspy.com/download.asp?id=626299. Click on the downloaded file after you install BitComet, and the agonizingly slow download begins automatically.
3. Wait up to 3 days for the image to download in 4 parts.
4. Part one is a self extracting file that creates a single MDF and single MDS file. Double click on part one to extract. Ignore the MDS file.
5. Change the MDF extension to ISO so the file is named 2006-2.iso
6. I used the cheapy Taiwan made Staples DVD-R discs.
7. I used the free sonic RecordNow to burn the image on the DVD-R at whatever speed the program wanted. Can probably use windows media player to burn the disc. Took about 5 1/2 minutes.
8. Go to Nav DVD player in car/SAV. Eject old disc and insert newly burned disc.
9. Drive and don't get lost. Enjoy the new zip code function.
Still disappointed that the major beltway (Rt 288) around Richmond still doesn't exist on this map.
