I'm trying to make a ENG2NL now, because my lcd information is in German now and I want it to be Dutch.

Could you please explain this step a bit further, Nika?

7. Save the language file and calculate the CRC using CRC24.exe. Then replace the CRC24 HEX values at the end of the language file with the values from CRC24 – please note that CRC24 then says "OK" when you check the file again

Thanks,
Tim

@Moviefreak: there is no Dutch software for the MK1 until now, you will have to upgrade to a newer computer...

Here's the sub-steps for step 6 and 7:

1. Open navtweak.exe
2. Open the navboot file
3. go to the Lng_Hollands file (module #119)
4. Right click -> save
5. Open Lng_Hollands in UltraEdit
6. Replace "Lng_Hollands" (pos 59h) with "Lng_German." (with . = "00")
7. Save the file
8. Open CRC24.exe
9. Open the Lng_Hollands file
10. Click on GO
11. Write down the crc value
12. Open the Lng_Hollands file
13. Go to the last three bytes (Pos 39A1h)
14. Type the crc value from step 11
15. Save the file, open it again with crc24 and check (it should say OK)
16. Relace the Lng file in NAVBOOT using navtweak.exe
17. Save the navboot file - copy it to the ISO - save the ISO - burn the ISO

Here's the recoded navboot and Lng_Hollands file with German AND English (incl. BMW logo) changed into Dutch (untested):

Good luck!

Nika.

Hay Nika,

last night I tried the 27.1 in dutch...
but i`ve got the following problem:

every thing works perfectly,a dutch lady speaks, exept the menu`s are still in german.
last week I installed the regualar 27.1 version.
can this be the problem?
Would you be so kind to help me fixing this?

Anyway, great job so far! ( exept for me the menu-language)

I hope you will reply!

Hi Piconnected,

With the previous versions (v27 and older) I had the same issue with the startup logo. I needed to first downgrade to a lower version to be able to install the same version again... so I guess you'll first need to find a v26 or v27 version, downgrade, and then upgrade to v27.1 again...

Regards,

Nika.

Dear Nika

I have downloaded the 2 files. Have opened the downloaded navboot with
NavTweak and replaced the Lng_English file with the downloaded Lng_Hollands file. No problem so far.
Saved the Navboot and replaced the original navboot of 27.1 with this new one. Burned with UltraIso.
No problem.
Downgraded my BMW software with V26 and upgraded again with the new
"Dutch" V27.1
No problem

I now find all menu's are in Dutch on the LCD screen (except off course the dash, still in English)
However the voice of my lady-friend is still english.................

Where did I go wrong? I would like the girl to speak Dutch.

I appreciate all the work you and others are doing

Hi all,

Please read my post (129) before asking, this explains the entire process:
http://www.xoutpost.com/168012-post129.html

Changing the voice requires renaming the voice files (step 10) - http://www.xoutpost.com/102581-post5.html

Also... the navboot already contained the new version of the Lng file... but I guess it was good practice for you to replace it again

Regards,

Nika.

Nika, tried the de2nl + en2nl.
Works great, but the voice is still in English, so I'm trying to change that now myself!

Thanks nikagl. I have been reading and reading and slowly I am getting there. For now I have taken the easy way !! I have downloaded your iso 27.1 with Dutch text and voice (replacing the German).

What I am trying to do (please tell me if this wouls be impossible):

Keep the original english (voice, menu lcd, and dash)

Create a second language whereby the voice and lcd display are Dutch but the dash remains English.

I can live very well without german or french on my dash/lcd screen or voice

Yes, RRD - see the response to Satjoh...changing the voice requires changing the voice files in the ISO image.

Changing Voice = ISO image renaming, see post http://www.xoutpost.com/102581-post5.html

Changing Text = modifying lng file in navboot

Regards,

Nika.
