Not sure about 2005-1, the files are a little different, there is no ICONS folder. The way POI are handled changed with 2006-1. I'll test it on 2005-1 and see if I can get it to work.

Thanks, this is my biggest gripe with the BMW system (apart from she can be a bit thick sometimes) I also have a TomTom with the database but seems a shame to have to use it over a 2k option.

I've had a quick go at adding POI to the 2005-1 DVD, but I can't get the icons to work. The 2005 disks have two mechanisms for accessing POI "General Information" and "Travel Information", the first is the one that sets the icon POI on the map, these icons are not on the map disk, at least not in PNG format. The 2006 disk only has "Travel Information" and this uses the icons on the map disk to set the icons on the display. So I can get a list of cameras to search from, but not icons on the map - which is not a lot of use! Looks like you need the 2006 disk folks.

Where did you get the POI data for the rest of Europe? I occasionally drive through Holland and Germany so would be interested in getting data for that area.

The links of sites with the POI data is into section "Enlaces" / "Links" in my page.

Try Wizard, i tried in my unit coded to ENG, and i can't see icons :S it is strange.

Perhaps your problem in 2005-2 is the same for this, it is strange, the file PNG is the same... try the wizard and say me if you can see the icons with these files.

I've not run your wizard (yet), but I don't think it's the same problem, the 2005-1 and 2005-2 map DVD's have quite a different structure.

One thing I noticed, that you did not mention that I could see, with the icon file names like this :

ICONDSC 101 G508-G524-S024/ICONS/RR/POI_CINEMA.PNG+G539-I0+G523-I2+G522-I1+G521-I2!
ICONDSC 101 G508-G524-S028/ICONS/NAVI0X/POI_CINEMA.PNG+G539-I1+G523-I2+G522-I1+G521-I2!

The Sxxx just before the icon path (so here S024 and S028) is the length of the file name. In your example you copied the CINEMA.PNG to RADARS.PNG so the length of the name is the same - so it works. If the length is not the same as the number then the icons are not displayed.
