Well I am out of suggestions... you have done everything I know to do. Sounds like the OS boot data is corrupt or stuck... won't load old OS, won't allow new OS to install.

Hopefully someone will chime in with a solution to save you a trip to the stealer, who may end up telling you it is toast and you need to buy a new $2000 nav drive. Good luck.

Someone help Mr Brown out.

Just to clarifiy, the Mk111 nav drive won't support v.27 code.
Also, the Mk111 has a CD drive and won't read DVD disks - any disk you use for software updates on a Mk111 drive has to be CD.
