Macintosh Equivalent of Alcohol 120%?

Hi - I was wondering if there is a Mac equivalent of/to the program Alcohol 120%. I would like to upgrade my nav system from v20.10 but I don't have a PC. Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Smile think answer is yes - OS X

I'm not that familiar with Alcohol 120% but from looking the description
I gather this burns DVD/CD's. OS X has comes with a disc utility that among other things will burn DVD/CDs.
Hope that helps.

Search for the .ISO file instead of the MDF/MDS files, and use DiskUtility or Toast to burn the ISO. That's what I did to update a friend's E46 from v24 to v28.

On the other hand, if someone knows a way to edit the map files in the Mac, that would be perfect. On windows, there is an ISO editor that directly edits the ISO file. On the Mac, I know nothing like this. But if I copy the files into my harddisk and then try to burn a DVD, I can't burn the right format suitable for the car - it's not UDF, it's not ISO-9660+Joliet, it's not the original ISO-9660, so I'm kind of stuck with a windows machine everytime I want to update my own POIs or the latest radar files. Thanks for the help. I tried to burn a disk in Roxio Toast and encountered the same problem that davipt did. I am now on the hunt for an .ISO file. If I find it I will post a link. This is the first time I wish I had a PC - Wow, never thought I would say that!

Mac Users, this is how I burned the nav os cd:

1) change the mdf to iso
2) in Toast, under the Utilities menu, select Mount Disc Image and choose the "bmw v26 software.iso" file.
This creates a disc image on your desktop called "NAV_SW" with 54 items contained within it.
3) Go back to Toast and select the Copy icon (from Data/Audio/Copy/Other)
4) Go to the pull down menu next to "Image File" and select the nav software (you should see the cd icon and "NAV_SW" pop up
5) Click Record
6) select your speed, click Write Disc and Voila! Works like a charm.

Along the same lines, I have a DVD I purchased that has a few scratches on it and have backed it up as a .toast file. What kind of DVD is required to burn it, a DVD -R, +R or what?

@jcolley: my edited dvd's are burned in a DVD-RW from TDK and they've behaved nicely so far. I've also done a copy of a friend dvd in some Moore DVD-R, and he complained (his wife in fact) that the navi stoped reading it after a while, but I never understood if it was related to the media or just because it's an older E46 3-Series (ours is a X3 2006). Never used any +R.

For critical burns like this i use Apple DVD-R 8X purchased at the Apple store, or Sony DVD-R. One additional thing that may be of interest is that DVD's and CD's that are made in Japan are of better quality than those made in China. They are more difficult to find but i don't have failures using media from Japan. http://64.233.167.104/search?q=cache...ient=firefox-a

Just a note that Toast 9 (at least) seems to have no problem mounting Nero (.nrg) images and buring them - haven't tried it yet with .mdf

I have used Toast for years for all my Nav related disc buring with no issues.
