What gets us into trouble is not what we don't know...it's what we know for sure that just ain't so

there are no psychical differences. the only difference is in the way the viewing angle and contrast levels are set. if you put an X5 screen in an M5, you'll notice it looks much better when you flip it open as if you were going to put in a cassette. when the screen is in it's normal position, it can be hard to see sometimes. there is a way to open the screens up and change the contrast levels, but it seems easier to just trade with someone.
