Nor Cal people: looking for someone with an M5 screen that wants an X5 screen

I have a 16:9 screen that was meant for an X5 in my M5 that I would like to trade for an M5 16:9. I've seen instructions posted on how to open up the screen and change the viewing position, but I would rather just trade someone that is in the same position as me ;-)

thanks... josh

Remember that your M5 is an E39, so any E39 5-series screen will work in your vehicle.

Don't swap with an E38 screen (7-series), they can be physically different.

Good luck!

as far as i know, the e39 M5 screen and the X5 screens are the same, and will work in either vechile, but because the viewing angle is different, the contrast and brightness is different. While the X5 screen works fine in my M5, the picture on the screen doesn't look very good.

...interesting...

can't you adjust the screen's settings somehow? it doesn't seem cost effective to develop two different screens that work on basically the same car...

I think I can help out, but we'd need to ship to each other cause I'm in the DC area. The monitor/tape player in my X5 seems to be from an E39.

Josh- it's in real good shape. I can post pics tomorrow. If nothing local works out maybe we can swap.
