What is this icon?

This drove me crazy over the last few days. There is an icon that has shown up on my navigation screen. It is a grey circle with a grey dot in the middle. I don't remember seeing it before. I shows at more than one location on the map. Does anyone know what this icon signifies?

Also, I went to the disable icons function, and it was not lite up, indicating that this was not a removable icon.

Thanks for any help.

This icon is for showing the geographic centre of the postcode (zip code) area.

If you navigate to a region and don’t put a house number or street (just the zip) then this is where you get routed to.

As far as I'm aware, there is no way to disable this icon as it forms part of the map database and not the POI database.

If someone knows better then i'm happy to be wrong, BTW

Thanks for the reply. It must have been there all along and I have just never noticed it. Mystery solved, thanks again.
