Hi,

how did it turn out?

I have two MK4's units. One is not reading copied DVD very well. Lot of reboots or froozes.

The other one is asking for software, but wenn I put the firmware CD in, the unit says it's uploading the firmware, but nothing happens in the Unit.
Power light is on, does not flash or reboot like it's supposed to.

Any help on this one?

Regards,
Max

At first I tried to use a name brand CD. I think it was a Fuji or something and that caused the Nav to go blank.
The second time I grabbed a no-name CD-RW and it worked. The CD is totaly white on both sides so I don't know what brand it is.

Here's a few more tips! (I've always done this and had no problems - ever!)

- Use a "cheap" CD-R disc (no-names are great!)
- Burn with 1x writespeed
- Let it validate the burn operation
- Turn key to 1 and insert the created OS-disc
- If nothing happens after a few seconds, go into the GPS option
- Let it upgrade - screen may blank - it could also take a few minutes before it responds!
- Take out the OS-disc when told so and press OK
- Take the car for a drive for atleast 5 minutes (helps the GPS settings to take effect!)

Good luck!
