How to change language to US English in Mk4

Hi,
I Have a 2005 X5 4.4 lit and I recently purchased MK4 navigation system from e-bay (original was stolen) . Mk4 is working perfectly fine except it is using British English . How can I change its language option to US English . Thanks in advance.

You need to have the unit coded for your thee language preferences. Then, the unit will load them from the OS disk. You can either use NavCoder (search this forum), or have a dealer code your MKIV.

Or you can trick it by changing name of US_f.csf to gb_f.csf and reinstalling software

That only changes the spoken voice, it does not change the displayed language on the nav screen, check control display, or other areas on the car.

The displayed language text for GB and US is different.
