V.32 works for all I-bus cars plus all e65/66 cars. It is the last OS disk for e38/39/53/65/66 and other non I-drive cars. I don't know about the 2012 maps they may be ok by now. Is the ebay guy selling copies or originals? Your gamble I guess unless someone else has a comment.

Cool Thanks. More to the point, I was concerned about about the download being from UK, and it screwing up my settings in the Nav, making it think that it is in UK. If that should not affect my regional settings, I think I am good to give this a shot. Thanks again for the reply. Sort of scared here.

The maps I am not sure if they are copies or original. I will see when I get them. I too am scared about putting non OE into the car.

Copies of DVD maps do not always read properly as do the originals. Maybe if the new type are single layer (??) maybe they will read. The older ones were double layer I think and didn't read well. Others here are expert on this subject.

I use a factory OS disk as it is cheap ($8). They are universal all over. Only the hacked copies are different.

I want to use the hacked one for that little bit of extra cool.

If this messes up my stuff, will I be able to insert the original cd and fix the messup? Thanks.

Hello everyone, just wondering if someone could confirm with a couple of yes/no's whether I'm right with what I think I've worked out so far...

Will be taking an 08 X5 (e70) soon, and just want to make sure I'm on the latest versions of things, particularly as there is no navigation disc in the car

I'm not yet sure what all the firmwares etc are in the car, but as I understand it:
- I can upgrade to v32 of the firmware
- but I can still run the most recent Professional Map Disc?

Or will the newset Pro Map Disc try and update the firmware to something it shouldn't be?

Thanks hopefully in advance!

E70 uses complete different navigation system. V32 software is for older MK1/2/3/4 computers. E70 is with CCC comp. The software update for your system must be done at the dealer. But if you have no problems with the navigation, just use your Pro DVD maps and drive carefully because you don't need update .

I beg to differ:

part # 01 59 0 141 891, which is the CD with the V.32 shows to fit E70 models as well as a line of many others - just plug the part number into RealOEM to see if it fits your model. The upgrade CD is about $7 from a dealer, and from what I had gathered from the posts contains upgrade software for the MK1, MK2, MK3, MK4 and the newer, MOST equipped cars...

As a matter of fact, this part number is for the US software, there is a whole line of other CDs that fit other markets, like Arabic, Russian, French, Spanish in US, Spanish in Spain and bunch of others... Those CDs have their own part numbers...

I have bought a few V. 32 disks from the dealer in the past. The disk itself does not list anything but MKI, II, III, Navi 01, Navi 02, Navi 03, and DVD-Top. This covers the I-Bus cars and the E65/66 MOST bus cars. DVD-Top is MKIV I assume. It also covers the MKIII/IV radio Mono nav. The V.32 SI B65 21 02 (Service Information Bulletin) does not list any non I-Bus cars other that the E65/66. It is in this post http://www.xoutpost.com/electronics/...n-v32-sib.html I also went to my 2011 ETK disk and find the disk for OS 01 59 0 141 891 is listed for ALL languages (no separate disks for different countries). Oddly The new ETK lists this disk for a lot of non I-Bus cars such as E60, 63/64, 70, 71, 90. My guess is that this is a mistake by BMW unless they have also come out with a SI B covering non I-Bus cars.
