well thanks chaps for the great advice... just upgraded from v25 v26 on my 2005 e46 330cd sport... many thanks!

will run it for a few days before upgrading to v26.09a!

can someone confirm that its possible to downgrade back to v26 should i for some reason not be happy with v26.09a?

thanks,

the very 1st post in this thread says,

"Note that this update is for MkIV nav drives only. If you have a MkIII, do not even consider using this release because it is reported to have some issues that could render your nav drive inoperable."

that's what i would go by.

Don't know where this comes from however the official document for v26 does not say anything like that: http://www.xoutpost.com/pdf/v26.pdf

And it has always been that way: You can insert any version into any MKx. If the MKx was not up-to-date it get's updated to the latest release.

Several members have reported problems with newer OS versions on MkII & MkIII drives because the older drives just don't have the processor speed to run the newer software. I don't specifically recall anyone on this board asking about an MkI.

I would like to paraphrase the disclaimer: "anything you do to your Navigation computer is at your discretion and X5World will be held harmless from indemnity in case of malfunction..."

Again: v26 does NOT contain any NEW software for MK1, MK2 and MK3 so loading v26 in an MK3 already at software 3-1/63 NOTHING will happen!
On each v.XX-cd there is different software for all 4 MKx-systems!

Geez, is this really so hard to understand?

For MK1 v26 contains the same version that v24.1 already had.
For MK2 v26 contains the same version as that v21 already had.
For MK3 v26 contains the same version as that v22 already had.
For MK4 v26 contains the new software-release 4-1/60

Don't get your panties in a bunch, pal. Relax.

I loaded v24 onto my MkIII and had problems with it, so I downgraded to v23 and since have had no problems.

I've only been here for about a year now, reading reported problems from members who have actually installed the updated software versions on MkII & MkIII drives. You're a little late to the party to be omniscient.

I'm having problems installing 120%. Is there another program I can use to burn both files (.mds & .mdf) to a cd?

Just done the upgrade to v26 worked easily and quickly. My recorder only offered 4 times so did it on that speed. Next to try, now I have a base version to go back to, is 3d and my own logo?

Thanks
