HI,

did you have a high dvd or a professional dvd?
If a high dvd, then update first your nav firmware and we will se, if it then works.

Ok,

but did you think it about the high dvd or know you it about high dvd?!
Which car did you have and what is the first date of the car?

When you insert the dvd in your pc, what is the label named?

Ok,

the e39 needs the high disc which is labeld to NAV_DB.
The next question - what is the bmw portal?

Perhaps is it possible, that the disc doesnt work correctly or you must it burn to another dvd. Some navisystems needs dvd-r, others dvd+r.
Is the disc burned to a DoubleLayer DVD?

Ok,

thats right.
The FRE folder is for your language (french) important.
I think, you got a copy and there is an error with the copy, or, perhaps, will it isnt the right format of dvd for you navsystem.
I wrote, that some navsystems needs dvd-r and others dvd+r.
