One thing is unclear to me: If I want to add Speedcams and say Camping sites as POIs and add voice prompt is there any way to have the voice prompt only for the Speedcams? I don't want to go camping and hear the voice "ding-ding, caution ahead" or whatever.
Thanks
The sound warning is only for the permanent POI, not for the user-selectable POIs

So the warning only sounds for speed cameras.

Any other POI can also be displayed at the same time with no sound warning

I'm afraid I don't quite understand.
What do you mean by "permanent" POIs and user-selectable?
Do you select "set" of POIs somehow in the menus?

You're saying that if I edit the map files and import to them speed cameras and camping sites POIs, it will sound the warning only for speed cameras?
How does the system distinguish which one of these 2 is permanent?

The OS shows a permanent POI always on the screen.
In the standard OS, this POI is the "city centre" and appears as a bullseye symbol.

On the patched OS, the permanent POI changes to the Military Bases POI, and then you edit the Military Base POI-image to a camera image, and load the cameras as "military bases" on the map database. They then appear on-screen with the camera image.
The previous permanent POI (city centre) can no longer be shown.

The Speed Cameras are loaded on the map databse

The sound warning happens for the permanent POIs only

The user-selectable POIs on the map are completely unaffected, and can be selected and displayed as before.

Does the professional nav act in the same way, i.e have audible warnings for permanent POIs like the military bases?

I'm hoping that this can be done for the Professional nav

Just to expand on Jocken reply,

It only works on the HIGH discs (DVD,CD, 4:3 or 16:9, Professional nav on ibus vehicles, and only the mk4), not the PRO I-drive equiped cars.

Hi all, bit by bit I am building up my knowledege...BTW, my understanding is: if I want to load the POIs - but not the VOICE NOTIFICATION - on the map CD/DVD I have to do 2 things:
1) load icons into \tpd\nb..\icons\navi0x and rr.
2) load POI Database into map...BUT how? I mean, I would like not using POISoN.exe as this also patches the OS to have the sound notification. I only would like to have the speed cameras as permanent POIs...
Am I right or not???
Thank you.
