Sat Nav custom settings help..

Ok i have had a search around, and kind anything on this.. so hope someone can help me.

I recently bought a BMW E39 530i Champagne Edition.

Me and my mate have the same car. His one is slightly different in the sense that he has different custom settings.. which i would like. below is a list, we have the latest software installed, and have both got MK3 units, and the same Sat nav disc. so cant understand, why i cant change the below.

1. when i go to SatNav, and choose guide, i want the map to show, instead of having to manually having to change it from just the arrow.

2. I want the split screen only to be on the satnav, and not all the way through. (there is a way turn on split screen all the way through, but i want it only on sat nav screen).

i hope you guys can help...

Select the display mode to be map (I forget the exact command). It stays this way until you change it again

Use NavCoder and change the Widescreen Mode.
However, the correct setting depends on what radio module you have fitted

Maybe you have BM24 and he has BM54...??

You can select a different widescreen mode, but you may not have full radio control (Info and Select buttons may not work as they should)

Correct BMW setting for Splitscreen is that it works on nav, computer and radio using the BM24 and 4:3 screen (which is what I had)
But some radios do not support radio split screen, and that may be where the difference is between the cars.

Ahh ok, that i can live with. but can you find out the Map to stay on permenant, instead of me having to select it every time.

The map display mode remembers your setting.
Try turning guidance off, setting to what you want, and then powering down (remember: power down occurs 1min after car is closed and locked)

Then see if previous display mode is remembered on next bootup.
