[QUOTE=ccfj1;616850]OK.
Yes use download file 3, this is just the files for the 2nd colour scheme (brown -> night), and use navtweak to import into your modded navboot file (first tab, modules), it has a modded sky as well).

Please another question before starting "messing up". So I download file 3 and import this into MY navboot. In my understanding this means that I will keep my language setting as your modding is only affecting the colours...is that correct?
What about the menu option where I will go to choose day/night option? (will it be italian or english)...I hope I made myself clear..THX ..and my compliments for the excellent job done!!

Correct, only the colours on rom_col2 and rom_col3 will change.

You will need to edit this yourself, it will be in the strings tab, scroll down to the correct value (0344, I think) and change "language" for "POI alert" (or whatever you want), you will also need to change the language tag from "I" to "On" and the 2nd language to "Off".

Hope you understand.

well...I am slowly getting into the job. Before asking any other question I wonder if there is a kind of "how-to-do-it" to study...
I got the navboot opened with navtweak and found the "rom_col", so I close to replace them. But on the other hand I have some trouble with the string tab content. I checked the numbers and I have no 0344 listed; instead I found a 1/344 that is "navi. volume"....can you help me out with this? What are all these numbers and how can I change the content...THX

Have a look at the main navtweak page.

The numbers may not be exact, they are just as a rough guide.

1/347 = "Lingua" change to "POI alert" or whatever.
1/351 = "I" (if this is your 1st language then change to "on" (no quotes), change the 2nd lang to "off" and the 3rd to "" (nothing,a blank).

To change the content double click and edit, or export, edit the text file and then import.

I am studying...so it seems to me that under "strings" tab we have just the displayed text on the screen, while under the moduls we should have some kind of "program/exe" file...how do we modify these last one?

Correct.

Also correct, these are the modules that are loaded when the nav unit is updated.

Only some are editable, (via the tabs) or by direct import.

Last one??

You already provided me the answer. Sme are editable some aren't. So how can I edit those editable? Is there a specific software?
BTW my idea is:
1 to load your files (rom_col2 and 3).
2 change the string from "set colori" to "giorno / notte" (day night );
3 edit numbers of keys: number 1 to day and number 2 night.
Thus the switch of the color setting will activate the swicth day and night.
Do u think it will work?
last but not least I am doing this on a V32 and NOT on a V31...
Thanks for your advice...

All in navtewak my friend.

edit values directly (via tabs) or via the modules, (export, edit then re-import).

OK.

OK, download option 1 for all the above, its already been done, then add your hacks.

I don't think this is possible, I tried looking for the values and could not find them, if you do find them let me know

If you have access to the switches light sensor yes, I would not recommend using the switch as some people use the lights during the day and the nightmode would look out of place, better if it worked via the sensor, auto switching with the sensor would be very cool indeed.

V32 and V31 are the same, (for the MK3 and MK4), they are identical, there is no difference between them, making changes to a v32 image will not update a v31 nav computer.

If you put a v32 disc in a v31 loaded mk3/mk4 it will not update, it will say "software up to date".

Updating from v31 to v32 is a waste of time, effort and a blank disc, and more importantly does nothing, it does not even change the version number...

You're welcome.
