One of the worst things is that we are 10 YEARS late in getting into the modern diesel car world thanks to General Motors and the CARB. GM destroyed the diesel car market in the US 30 years ago with the piece of garbage they sold masquerading as a real diesel. Then CARB kept all others out for the remaining 30 years.
