Nav Retrofit - On Board Computer

I'm picking up the connector for the CD changer on Wednesday evening (along with the Nav removal tools) so hopefully this sorts the issue out. I don't have a diagnostics tool (should maybe look into getting one). Should I power everything down before making this connection?

I wonder if the BC stalk is fried? I can get one from www.bmminparts.com for about £38 but hopefully thats the last resort. Not keen on removing airbags and steering wheels to be honest.
What was your problem with the speed sensor wire? I used the black / white wire as per the BMW instructions - is this the correct wire?

Carsoft is cheap, and Jochens navcoder is great for this sort of thing (and for doing loads of coding), I wouldn't be without it now.

I won't do any harm mate, just follow the PD procedure.

Toby (bmminiparts) is a stand up bloke, I've used the loads of times, he will see you right.

Ne neither, I'm thinking of getting the MFSW re trimmed (nappa/perforated and M stitching), but don't fancy the removal.

Yes, it's the correct one, the guy who fitted the nav used one of them horrible scotch locks and it was not making contact, so I've cut, soldered and heat shrank the connection, the display is nice and smooth now.

Dealer called today to say the connector block was in for the CD changer cable so I picked it up and connected it to the retrofit harness. Didn't fix the problem unfortunately. I also had the screen wash indicator on since Saturday (when I completed the retrofit) and I topped it up tonight - indicator stays on.
I read somewhere on E46Fanatics someone had the same problem (OBC stopped working and screen wash indicator on) after a double din install and tracked it down to a loose connection at the cluster.
Think I need to get a diagnosis done.

Pop the cluster out and double check all the wires going into the plugs, you may have knocked one and it's slid out.

I've given up for tonight! Too dark outside and I don't have the luxury of a garage. I'll pop the cluster out at the weekend when I have daylight to work in. Hopefully it is just a loose wire - I'll try to find out which wire is the washer fluid indicator.
Just need to change my Intravee settings for Nav instead of the Business CD HU.

Hi , I am interested in your progress, as my BC stalk button also does not longer change or give any On Board Computer information at the instrument cluster as before. Nav screen is ok, but I really miss the same information at the instrument cluster. This problem appeared after resetting service soon indicator. I am afraid that I need some software upgrade or any suggestions?
