MKIV stuck on 4-1/30 - please help with V32 upgrade

I have a 2007 X3, with a MKIV navigation system.

When I look at the system display, it shows version 4-1/30, which I know is quite a few versions old - currently at 4-1/100, I think.

I have burned several copies of the V32 upgrade and also had a couple from euro sat nav. None are registered by my system.

When I load the update disc, the only message I get is "No disc, please insert a navigation CD/DVD".

I've tried all combinations I could find of loading the software - engine on; engine off; door open; ignition in position 1; but nothing works.

I thought it might be an issue with the laser, but I am running a copy of a map and it is read without problems. Before I tried to do the update, it was running an original map.

Any thoughts apreciated

Welcome to the forums mate.

What speed are you burning the OS at (and is the quality of the discs good?).

What are you using to burn the OS ?

Thanks for the reply.
Using good quality discs (as far as I know), at x24. Burning on a mac.

But I have also used discs supplied by this Euro Sat Navs company, who claim to have successful upgrades.

I've asked 3 local BMW dealers about upgrading the OS, but they look at me like I'm mad and just show me map discs, so I've not been able to get hold of BMW originals to try...

That's the problem mate, 24x is way to fast. it should be the slowest rated speed of the disc. Also MACs don't lend themselves to this sort of thing, better off with a PC, do you have the option to boot into XP?

Don't have that option on my mac, and at work I use a notebook with no cd drive...
